Candle Care

Your candle comes with a Candle Care Card. Keep your Candle Care Card for future reference.

Burning your Candle:

Place your candle on a solid heat-proof surface in a safe place, out of reach of children and pets. Do not place candle near flammable items and keep away from drafts and curtains.

Trim wick to 6mm prior to each burn. For optimal performance, burn for 4 hours each time (for jar candle and large tins) or 3 hours (for small tins). This will provide a good melt pool for fragrance throw, and will ensure your candle doesn't "tunnel".

Never leave your candle burning unattended!

Our candles are extensively tested to ensure optimal safety within these parameters. Burning your candle for extended amounts of times can produce "mushrooming" on the wick, which in turn may cause some sooting. Trimming your wick to 6mm prior to each burn will help prevent mushrooming and sooting.

Extinguishing your candle:

Your candle comes with a lid. This lid is NOT designed for extinguishing your candle. Placing the lid on a still smoldering candle can cause the melted wax to absorb the smell from the smoke. This can make your candle have an unpleasant smell during subsequent burns. Extinguish your candle by using a purpose made candle extinguisher or simply blow the flame out. There may be 10 to 15 seconds of smoke produced from the wick immediately after extinguishing. The lid can be placed on your candle once the wick has entirely been extinguished and no longer producing smoke.
